Summer is over....

I was very busy this summer with joining the Hudson Valley Howlers Dog Scout troop. I had a lot of fun doing activities with my troop buddies. Here are a few pictures from our kayaking outing! Mom says that I need more practice staying still in the kayak but we were able to paddle out and around. It was fun!
I also passed my Dog Scout title test so now I have a new title to add to my list! I also get to wear this bandana at events to show that I passed! I even have a photo ID card. Fun fun.
I've also been practicing new tricks like this handstand. One day maybe I can walk on my two front paws!
Our goal for the end of the year is to get my Advanced Trick Dog title and to earn a backpacking badge from Dog Scouts. Think we can get it done?

I'm a Dog Scout...almost!

My mom and I joined the Dog Scouts of America! We are a part of the Hudson Valley Howlers troop. We went geocaching with our group recently and had a blast. I had to wear a back pack for parts of it to qualify for getting my very first badge!
This is us at our cache site. We hid our own and left some of my trading cards as swag for people to find.
We met a lot of nice people and their dogs and we are excited to go on our next group activity, kayaking! We are also working on getting me my Dog Scout title which is similar to getting a CGC but slightly different and mom says a little harder.

A night on the town

Mom & Dad took me out on the town the other night in Hudson. First we went to get dinner at The Pizza Truck on Warren Street.
Then I went to my first music show ever at a place called Spotty Dog which is a place for books during the day and beer at night. Dad was playing drums with his friend Greg. I met some nice people but the drumming was kind of loud and made my ears twitch. Mom gave me lots of yummy treats for being good. I even found some pretzels on the floor during the show. Score!

I borrowed my brother's girlfriend for the day

Have you been enjoying the sun and warmth? Mom has been feeling a bit under the weather lately. She has Lyme Disease and sometimes she gets really tired or achy and has been feeling that way so instead of training, we've been going for long walks and hikes. My brother Coleman's girlfriend Pinot is visiting us and since Coleman can't walk too far anymore, I borrowed Pinot for the day so I could have a hiking buddy. She is a very fancy and rare Bedlington Terrier! Her hair is curly so twigs and leaves get stuck in her fur really easily. I'm glad I have short hair. *

Kids are great!

My friends at Clinton Elementary School wrote me some awesome letters that got delivered today. I hope I can go back with my mom before the end of the school year to show them new tricks! Here are some of my favorites.

Hiking Pictures

We went on a hike with friends months ago and never got around to posting these pictures of me. Do you like them? Do I look too serious? I'm kind of a serious guy most of the time..... Mom's friend Colten from Dogged Pursuit Photography took the pictures. We're hoping to go hiking again with Colten and Ceiba soon.

Today is the Big Day!

Today is the "Big Day" that mom has been talking about. We are going to Clinton Elementary School in Poughkeepsie to meet the kids in the afterschool program. Mom is nervous because it is going to be held in the cafeteria and thinks I might be distracted by all the morsels that people may have dropped on the floor at lunch time. I suppose she should be worried. I love searching for food. She is also nervous because it will be the first time we have to do my tricks in front of a crowd. She said she got me special yummy treats to keep my attention. I can't wait!
We're also going to be giving out my brand new trading cards. Don't I look handsome? I love kids and am excited to meet so many of them today! We are participating in Tillman the Skatedog's Blog Hop. Check out some of these other cool dog blogs!

I like being a family dog!

Although I tend to be a busy bee getting into mischief sometimes, I really like just hanging out. My brother Coleman gets annoyed at me when I roll around on the couch too much and step on him or smash into him but when I am calm he doesn't mind snuggling.

It has been very cold this week so I have been spending a lot of time under the covers. I really like being a family dog.

Guerilla Agility

I get a bit nutty if I don't have stuff to do so even though it was really cold out today, mom brought me to the park to do what she called Guerrilla Agility. She said my brother Coleman used to do lots of it when he was younger and at the time she called it Ghetto Agility because of the neighborhoods they were practicing in. She said no one really used the parks because they were so sketchy so no one complained if she had a dog there. I don't get scared climbing things or sliding down things or being on strange surfaces. I love it!
